Whisperly Coins and VIP

Whisperly Coins and VIP, Explained

Coins are what keeps a Whisperly call going once billing starts, and VIP is an optional extra on top. Here’s when coins start being used, what you’ll see before they are, and where to keep an eye on your balance.

What exactly are Whisperly coins?

Coins are Whisperly’s in-site currency. You buy them in the wallet and spend them mostly on call time: once the free part of a voice or video match is over, the call is billed in coins for as long as it lasts. A few other features use them too. Coins only work on Whisperly; they have no cash value and can’t be sent to someone else.

You don’t need any to start. New users get free matches first, and the page asking is Whisperly free explains how those and the rewards work. This page picks up where the free part ends.

Inside a call

When do coins start being used?

Inside a voice or video call. When a call is about to start using coins, a notice appears in it to say billing is about to begin. If you both stay, the call keeps going and from then on uses coins according to how long it lasts.

That gives you a clear choice point. If the conversation isn’t worth paying for, end the call when you see the notice. If it is, stay and the call simply carries on. Coins aren’t used for call time without that notice coming first.

  1. Free to start

New users get free matches; the Audio and Video buttons show how many are left.

  2. The billing notice

Before a call starts using coins, a message in it says billing is about to begin.

  3. Paid time

If you stay, the call continues and uses coins for its length until one of you hangs up.

What happens if your balance runs low mid-call?

Whisperly tells you while the call is still going. When your coins are close to running out, a small top-up prompt appears inside the call; a little later a time-limited offer can slide up from the bottom. Both let you add coins without leaving the conversation, and you can ignore both if you’d rather let the call end.

If the call ends because the balance ran out, a larger top-up window may appear afterwards. None of these prompts charge you on their own; nothing is bought until you pick a package and pay.

What is VIP?

VIP is an optional membership offered in the wallet next to the coin packages. The wallet describes it as premium extras, including bonus rewards connected to matches and messages. What it includes and costs can change, so check the wallet itself before deciding rather than relying on an old screenshot.

Nobody needs VIP to use Whisperly. If you’re unsure, wait until you know how often you actually open the site, then decide whether a membership makes sense for you.

Where do you check your balance?

In the wallet, which opens from the menu or from the coin count shown on the match screen. It lists your balance under “My coins”, the packages you can buy and the VIP option, and each price is shown before you pay.

Purchases are handled by payment providers, so your card or wallet details go to them, not to Whisperly. If a purchase doesn’t appear in your balance, write to the address on the contact page with the date, the amount and how you paid.

Spending tips

A few habits keep coins from going faster than you meant them to.

  • Watch for the billing notice. It tells you when a call is about to start using coins.
  • Use your free matches first. They show you how often you actually want to chat, which is the best guide to how many coins you need.
  • Start small. Buy the smallest package that makes sense and see how long it lasts.
  • Spend on conversations you enjoy. Following someone and messaging them later is a different way to keep in touch than matching again and again.

How matches, follows and messages fit together is on how Whisperly works, and the coin rules in full are in the Terms of Service.

What coins don’t change

Paying doesn’t change the rules of a conversation. Voice and text still never ask for your camera, the other person still learns only what you tell them, and you can still leave, block or report exactly as before. If you’d like to hear a voice before thinking about coins at all, the random voice chat page is a good place to start.
